Speech in Egersund, December 3, 1940: We Must Sacrifice Everything

Extract from a speech in Egersund, December 3, 1940.

By Gulbrand Lunde.

Many say, ‘Imagine if England wins!’ To this, we in NS would like to respond that we cannot rely on people who are so preoccupied with their own concerns and brooding. No new era is created except through sacrifice and faith. One must be willing to take risks. We must be prepared to go through fire and water for Norway’s freedom and independence. We have to dare something and sacrifice something. Consider the fishermen in northern Norway who are nothing without having faced challenges. We must be willing to sacrifice everything; otherwise, it won’t work. We need to understand that this is Norway’s path into the future. It is the youth who will build and shape the Norway of tomorrow.
