Sverre Tidemand Ruud: Chief of staff for NS Youth Front (1941-1945)

Sverre Tidemand Ruud (born 27 July 1911 in Aker, died 8 June 1988) was chief of staff for NS Youth Front (NSUF) and a front-line fighter during the Second World War.

Ruud took the lowest level of the Military Academy and served as a conscript ensign during the German invasion of Norway. During the German occupation, he was first a leader of Hirden's regiment number 7 "Viking" in Oslo and parts of Akershus ("Greater Oslo") in 1941, and from November 1941 to 1945 chief of staff for the NS Ungdomsfylking (NSUF). In NSUF, he worked in close contact with NS youth leader Axel Stang and tried, among other things, to limit German influence over the organisation. In 1942, Ruud signed up for service in the Norwegian Legion and was a front-line fighter from the summer of 1943.

After the war
Ruud was sentenced to 12 years of forced labor in the national treason settlement and was released in 1948. After the war, Ruud was a manager at a car dealership in Gjøvik. He died in 1988.
